PodTask turns podcast and video episodes you choose into short summaries, tasks and habits. You paste a public YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts or iHeartRadio link; we fetch its captions or transcript and use an AI model to produce a summary in the language you pick. PodTask does not offer the episode's audio or video for playback, download or saving: every timestamp opens the original episode on its own platform. Summaries are generated automatically and may be incomplete or wrong. Check anything important against the original episode.
PodTask creates an anonymous account on your device so your plan and usage can be enforced. You are responsible for the links you submit: by submitting one you confirm you are allowed to access that episode, and that you will use the result yourself rather than republish it as a substitute for the episode. Do not use PodTask to infringe anyone's rights or to circumvent the plan limits.
The free plan includes a fixed number of summaries in total, one open task and one open habit. Premium includes a monthly allowance of summaries (currently 50 per calendar month, shown in the app), unlimited tasks and habits, and any question per episode. Every summary request counts, including asking something else about an episode you already summarised. An episode whose audio we have to transcribe for you counts as two. Unused summaries do not carry over. We may adjust limits with notice in the app.
Premium is an auto-renewing subscription billed through your Apple ID (or Google account on Android). Prices are shown in the app before you subscribe. Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase, or at the end of a free trial if one is offered. The subscription renews automatically at the same price and period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings; deleting the app does not cancel it. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
If you reinstall the app or change device, use "Restore purchases" in Settings or on the plan screen to recover an active subscription linked to the same store account.
PodTask is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by YouTube, Google, Apple, Spotify or iHeartMedia; their names, logos and trademarks belong to them. Episodes, titles, artwork and transcripts belong to their creators and the platform they are on. PodTask shows you the parts worth acting on, always with a timestamp that links back to the original episode, and keeps transcripts only as a short-lived cache (currently 30 days) to avoid fetching the same episode twice. You may only submit links to content you are allowed to access, and what you get back is for your own use. If you are a rights holder and want an episode's cached transcript and summaries removed, write to support@getpodtask.com with the episode link; we remove it and block the episode.
Podcasts often cover health, fitness, nutrition, money, investing, law and mental health. A PodTask summary, task or habit is an automated extract of what someone said in an episode, not advice from us and not medical, financial, legal or other professional advice. It does not know your situation. Talk to a qualified professional before acting on anything that could affect your health, money or legal position, and stop any habit that causes pain or harm.
PodTask is provided "as is". We work to keep it available but cannot promise uninterrupted service, and we may change or discontinue features. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for lost data, or for decisions you take based on a summary. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or any right you have under mandatory consumer law.
You can stop using PodTask at any time and delete your data from Settings. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or the plan limits.
These terms are governed by Swiss law. The courts at the operator's seat (Winterthur, Switzerland) have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live and may also bring proceedings there.
